La Miel Aesthetics opened in December 2022, founded on a simple observation: most medical spas in Raleigh operate somewhere between a retail menu and a real clinical practice, and patients can tell the difference.

Philosophy
The La Miel Philosophy
Treatments should build long-term skin health, not just produce a result this week. That’s the core philosophy Adriana brought to La Miel, and it shapes how we plan every patient’s care.
We think in arcs, not appointments. Your first visit isn’t the plan; it’s the start of the plan. Over six months, a year, and longer, we layer treatments in a sequence that addresses root causes (collagen loss, sun damage, volume deflation) rather than chasing symptoms visit by visit.
We’re honest about what works for whom. Not every treatment fits every patient. We turn down requests regularly, because "no, but here’s what I’d recommend instead" is a more useful sentence than "yes, here’s what I’ll sell you."
And we read the patient in front of us. Your Fitzpatrick skin type, your cultural background, the language you’re most comfortable in, the way your face moves when you animate, these matter. They shape what we recommend and how we execute it.

Plastic-surgeon-led
Most boutique medical spas in Raleigh are operated by a single nurse injector. La Miel is different. Our medical director, Dr. Susan Lovelle, brings more than thirty years of clinical experience, including plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in New York City. Her guidance shapes our protocols across every service.
Master-certified lead injector
Adriana holds her master’s in nursing from Chamberlain University and master injector certifications from Empire Medical Training and Aesthetic Medical Educators Training. She continues to pursue advanced training actively, and brings the eye and steady hand that come from treating thousands of patients.
Calibrated for every skin tone
We deliberately carry multiple laser platforms, a range of chemical peel formulations, and injection approaches that work across the full Fitzpatrick spectrum. Patients of color, especially Latin and South Asian patients, often visit us specifically because their skin has been mistreated at practices that run one-size-fits-all protocols.
Bilingual from intake to aftercare
Spanish-speaking patients shouldn’t have to translate their own medical questions. Every consultation, consent form, and aftercare instruction can be delivered in English or Spanish.
