Clear + Brilliant is non-ablative, which means it works below the surface without removing the top layer of skin. It creates microscopic treatment zones in the skin, prompting a repair response and gradual renewal, while leaving the surface largely intact. That is the reason downtime is minimal and also the reason it is gentler than CO2.
The nickname Baby Fraxel captures the trade-off well. It does less per session than an ablative laser, and in exchange it asks very little of your schedule. Most patients treat it as maintenance rather than a one-time fix, returning periodically to keep skin quality where they want it.
