What are acne scars and stretch marks?
Acne scars form when deep breakouts damage the collagen beneath the skin, leaving rolling, boxcar, or icepick depressions. Stretch marks form when the skin stretches faster than its collagen can keep up.
How we treat scarring
Fractional resurfacing creates controlled micro-injuries that prompt the skin to rebuild collagen, softening the depth and texture of scars over several sessions. RF microneedling is another option for textural scarring.
Your laser resurfacing timeline
Typical for CO2 resurfacing. Clear + Brilliant is gentler: redness usually settles within a day or so.
Before
Consultation
We assess your skin type, history, and medications, and agree on a depth that matches the recovery time you can take.
Day 0
Treatment
Topical numbing first. Right after, the skin looks red and feels hot, like a strong sunburn.
First several days
Skin turns over
Redness, swelling, and a sandpaper texture, then flaking as the skin renews. Lighter treatments settle in a few days.
Weeks to months
Collagen builds
Redness fades and collagen keeps remodeling, so the final result comes later. Strict sun protection matters throughout.
