Dermal Filler for Cheeks, Chin, and Jawline

Facial Balancing Before and After

Facial balancing uses dermal filler to bring the cheeks, chin, jawline, and profile into proportion with each other. Small changes in several areas often look more natural than a large change in one.

Results below include full facial balancing, chin and jawline filler, and filler dissolving for patients correcting work done elsewhere. Every treatment was performed in our North Raleigh office.

Dermal fillers at La Miel

With age, the fat pads of the mid-face thin and shift down, and the bone beneath them changes. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

A chin that sits back can make the nose look larger and the profile less defined. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

Filler can move away from where it was placed, look heavier than intended, or simply no longer match your goals. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

Lips lose volume and definition with age, and thin or uneven lips can make the lower face look out of balance. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

Smile lines (nasolabial folds) run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, and marionette lines run down from the mouth corners. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

The area under the eyes, often called the tear trough, can look hollow or shadowed when volume is lost in the cheek and lower lid with age, or simply because of the way your face is built. You see the change right away, and it settles by 2 weeks. Here is how real La Miel patients changed.

What is facial balancing?

Facial balancing looks at the whole face instead of one feature. With age, the cheeks, chin, jawline, and lips lose support at different rates, and the proportions between them change.

How we plan facial balancing

Dermal filler is placed in small amounts across several areas, planned against the nose, lips, and profile, so the result looks natural from every angle. Choose an area above to see what it is and how we treat it.

What to know about facial balancing results

Facial balancing uses dermal filler where the face needs support: mid-face lift in the cheeks, projection and contour in the chin, and definition along the jawline. Full-face plans often run 4 to 6 syringes, spread across multiple visits.

You see improvement right away and the final look at 2 weeks. How long it lasts depends on the product and area, from 12 to 18 months for smile lines to up to 2 years for cheeks and chin. Mild swelling for 1 to 5 days and possible bruising are normal.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible. If something is not right, hyaluronidase dissolves HA filler within 24 to 48 hours, and we also dissolve other providers' work when asked.
