Under-Eye Filler Before and After

Hollows under the eyes can make you look tired even after a full night of sleep. Careful filler placement can soften the hollow.

What causes hollow under-eyes?

The area under the eyes, often called the tear trough, can look hollow or shadowed when volume is lost in the cheek and lower lid with age, or simply because of the way your face is built. Dark circles from pigment or thin skin are a different concern.

How we treat the under-eye area

The under-eye area is delicate, so not everyone is a candidate for filler. When it suits you, a soft hyaluronic acid filler is placed in small amounts, and support is often restored in the cheek first. Your injector will assess the area before recommending treatment.

Your filler timeline

Typical for hyaluronic acid filler. How long it lasts depends on the product and the area.

  1. Day 0

    Treatment

15 to 60 minutes depending on the areas, with topical numbing first. You see the change right away.

  2. Day 1 to 5

    Swelling settles

Swelling for 1 to 5 days, longer in the lips, and bruising is possible. Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.

  3. Week 2

    Final look

Swelling is gone and the result has settled. This is the result to judge.

  4. Months later

    Plan your touch-up

Duration varies by product and area. Your injector will tell you when to come back.
