What this is

What Botox actually does

Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to targeted facial muscles. The treated muscle relaxes, the overlying skin smooths, and dynamic wrinkles soften. The effect is temporary (3 to 4 months on average), because nerve communication gradually re-establishes. Most patients maintain with treatments 3 to 4 times per year.

Botox does not fill lines. For static wrinkles etched into the skin, you need filler, biostimulator, or resurfacing. For lines that appear with movement, Botox is the answer.

At La Miel

Where we use Botox at La Miel

Adriana reads your face in motion, then maps placement and dose to your specific muscle patterns. Conservative-first means we would rather see you back in two weeks for a small top-up than leave you over-relaxed.

  • Forehead lines

Horizontal creases from brow-raising. Typical dose 10 to 20 units, placed to soften lines while preserving natural brow movement.

Suited for: Patients with strong frontalis activity and horizontal forehead etching.

Suited for: Patients with hypertrophic masseters, bruxism, or TMJ-related jaw tension.

  • Lip flip and gummy smile

Microdosing the upper lip and lip-elevator muscles to add subtle pout (lip flip) or reduce excessive gum show on smile. Typical dose 4 to 10 units.

Suited for: Subtle enhancements without filler, or patients with a gummy smile.

  • Platysmal bands (Nefertiti lift)

Relaxing neck bands and the platysma to sharpen the jawline. Typical dose 20 to 40 units across the neck.
