What this is
What makes Xeomin unique
Every botulinum toxin product on the market contains the same active 150 kDa neurotoxin protein. What differs is the accessory proteins packaged with it. Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify all carry accessory proteins. Xeomin does not.
Why does that matter clinically? For most patients, it does not. Onset, duration, and effect are comparable to Botox. But a subset of long-term Tox users develop antibodies to those accessory proteins over years of repeated dosing, gradually reducing how well their neurotoxin works. Switching to Xeomin removes the accessory proteins entirely, which can restore responsiveness.
For new Tox patients, Xeomin is a clean first option. For experienced patients who feel their Botox is not working like it used to, Xeomin is the most common alternative we recommend.
At La Miel
Where Xeomin fits at La Miel
Adriana selects Xeomin when patients want the purest formulation, when they suspect Botox tolerance, or when the Merz product line fits their existing rewards stack.

Original FDA approval pathway. Smooths vertical lines between the brows with the same dose range as Botox.

Standard upper-face treatment. Dosing converts cleanly from Botox at roughly 1 to 1.

Botox tolerance suspected
When a long-term Botox patient reports diminishing effect despite consistent dose, switching to Xeomin removes accessory proteins from the equation and often restores responsiveness.
Suited for: Patients with 5+ years of Botox use experiencing reduced effect.
Masseter and platysmal bands (off-label)
Same indications as Botox for jaw slimming, TMJ, and neck banding. Dose ranges identical.
Suited for: Patients who want the Merz product line for these areas.

Common questions
Common questions about Xeomin
Xeomin is the only botulinum toxin available without accessory proteins, often called a purified or naked neurotoxin. Xeomin and Botox both contain the same active 150 kDa botulinum toxin type A protein. The difference is that Xeomin is delivered without the accessory proteins that Botox and Dysport carry. This "naked" formulation has identical clinical effect for most patients, but can be useful for patients who have built antibody-driven tolerance to other neurotoxins over years of use.
